23 Plank & Beam console tables in knot-free solid wood, 36 to 66 inches wide, from $158 CAD with free shipping across Canada.
A console table is the narrow table that goes against a wall in an entryway, down a hallway or behind a sofa. These 23 run from 36 inches, which fits a condo entry, up to 66 inches for a wide hallway or the back of a sectional. Four of them add a lower shelf or closed storage for shoes, baskets and mail.
The Classic and Modern consoles are the simplest and least expensive, from $158. Verso has crossed legs, Mid-Century Modern has tapered legs, Contour and Forma have rounded tops, Camden is a rustic plank style, Grande is a heavier wirebrushed design and Arcata is an arched waterfall console in oak veneer. Finishes are Pecan, Walnut, Blonde and Black, with Coastal White, Seashell and White on Classic and Modern, rustic finishes on Camden and Cashew, Cerused White, Hazelnut and Noir on Arcata.
For an entryway, leave at least 36 inches of clear walkway in front of the table, which usually means a 36 or 46 inch console. Behind a sofa, choose a console a few inches shorter than the sofa and no taller than the sofa back: the 56 and 66 inch consoles fit most three-seat sofas.
