Welcome to the Forgali blog

Forgali is a Canadian online store for solid wood furniture: bunk beds, loft beds and single beds for kids' rooms, and the Plank & Beam range of dining and living furniture. This blog is where we will post the practical side of furnishing a home with solid wood: how to size a piece for your room, how to look after it, and what is new in the shop.

Start with the buying guides

Before buying, the usual questions are about size: will a 72-inch table fit, is a bench better than chairs, how tall should the stools be. We wrote eight short guides that answer those with real measurements.

• What size dining table do you need?
• Dining bench vs chairs: which should you buy?
• Banquette seating for a breakfast nook
• Counter height vs bar height stools
• Coffee table size guide
• Console table sizing: behind a sofa or in an entryway
• How to care for solid pine furniture
• Plank & Beam finishes compared

How buying from us works

We are online only, with no showroom. Everything ships free across Canada, you have 30 days to return a piece if it is not right, and our furniture carries a 5-year limited warranty. The details are on our shipping, returns and warranty pages.

What is coming

Next up: sizing help for kids' bedrooms, including bunk and loft bed heights and the ceiling clearance they need, finish and care notes, and a heads-up when new pieces land. If there is a question you would like answered, send it to us and it may become the next post.
